AIRBNB/VRBO

If you are staying with a larger group, booking an Airbnb or Vrbo may be more cost effective (and fun). To make sure a listing is licensed, look in the property description for their HUTB (Habitatge d'Ús Turístic) followed by six digits (ex. HUTB123456).

Feel free to explore options on your own as well. If you’d like to stay in the city center, look for places in L'Eixample. If you prefer being close to the water, we recommend searching in or around Ciutat Vella.

GETTING AROUND

The church where we will be getting married is a 4 minute walk away from the reception venue.

The easiest way to get around Barcelona is by metro or walking, but if you prefer a taxi, they can be found around the city (green light on top means they're available) and the most popular apps are Freenow, Cabify, and Bolt.

Citymapper is a really helpful app for walking, metro, bus, bike, and driving directions all around the city.

If you plan to travel to other nearby countries or cities by train, the Omio app/website is our favorite option.

BARCELONA TIPS

Barcelona is overall a safe city, but as with any big city, stay aware of your surroundings. Especially from pickpockets or scammers in crowded or tourist heavy areas.

For those interested, some recommended hair salons are Dolce Diva, UNIT3, and IDOLA.

Tipping at restaurants is not mandatory in Spain, as a service charge is often included in the bill. A small cash tip or rounding up on the bill total is of course appreciated, but not necessary.

If you go shopping while you're in Barcelona, keep in mind that non-EU residents qualify for tax refunds on any purchases (if the store participates in tax free shopping). For more information visit:
